Login to cPanel and click File Manager. Choose to open Web Root and Show hidden files. Locate and select the files or folders you want to copy or move (Hold control to select multiple items or hold shift to select a group of items). With the appropriate files and folders selected, click the Copy icon or Move icon from the top menu. Under the files category, locate the File Manager icon. A dialogue box will appear. In the pop-up, select Web Root and check the box next to Show Hidden Files. (this will place you in the folder for your web content and show you all the files and folders present). The File Manager will now load in a new window and show your files. · Upon logging into the customer’s Bluehost account, I traversed to the Files section of cPanel options. Next, I selected File Manager settings icon (blue icon), and then selected the Document Root domain and checked the box next to “Show hidden files” under “Preferences”. As shown below, I encountered a directory with bltadwin.russ file.
As bltadwin.russ is a hidden file, it is not viewable normally by accessing the web server account using an FTP program or file managers. If you access your hosting account using FTP or the cpanel file manager, you will not be able to bltadwin.russ file unless your FTP client or file manager is forced to show hidden files. If you are a site owner with a cPanel account, you can ask your hosting provider to submit a ticket to us on your behalf, and we can look at the problem that way. It works for files, but not directories. In the File Manager, if you're in a directory with files in it, you can manually select one or more files, and the Download button works. Files without an extension will be rendered as a generic text document. Click the Create New File or Create a New Folder button. Remove a File or Folder. Click and highlight the file or folder you want to remove in the File Listing on your File Manager. Locate the File Manager tool under the files category. Choose to open Web Root and Show hidden files, then click the Submit button. Navigate to the folder where you want the upload to be located. Click on the Upload icon towards the top of your toolbar. Click the Select File (Some web browsers will have a Choose File box instead).
