When it's done and gets put into my downloads folder, the file type is one of my programs and I can't view the contents of the downloaded file. By default when using Internet Explorer version 8 or newer and on a Windows 7 computer, the downloaded files are in a "Downloads" folder. The downloads folder can be found by clicking the Start button (Windows logo in the bottom left corner) then click on the word "Computer". The location of your downloaded files will depend on the type of file you have downloaded and the app that you used to download it. Most of your files are organised within the My Files app, however some files will not appear here. Some apps, such as Netflix, store their downloads securely on your phone and are only available through the app itself.
